RINGWOOD SEALS AGM

Your Club Needs You!!!

The Ringwood Seals AGM will be held on Thursday 18th June at 7.30pm at the Railway Hotel, 35 Hightown Road, Ringwood, BH24 1NQ.

A free drink for everyone!

We really do need as many parents as possible to attend this meeting, and are particularly keen for parents of the younger children to come along and let us know your views and any ideas you may have.

There are some posts on the Committee that we will be seeking to fill (information on these will be emailed to you separately), but if you do not have the time to take on one of these posts please come along to the meeting anyway.  It’s fairly informal and a good chance to meet other parents and find out a bit more about how the Club is run.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

If you have any queries please speak to Anne.

Thank you everyone.

The group images will also be uploaded onto the Ringwood Seals website.  If any parent does not wish their child to appear on the website, please advise Anne Nugent.

HOG ROAST A SUCCESS!!!!

Many thanks to all those who attended our Hog Roast and family fun day. From the looks on the kid’s (ice cream covered) faces, it was enjoyed by all. The guy’s on the Hog Roast (A W Andrew’s butcher’s of Verwood) cooked the hog to perfection. In fact, so many attended, he was beginning to panic about running out of hog! The Get Up and Bounce crew were great and allowed the “big” kids to have a go on both the mini assault and the bouncy castle. The weather was perfect (although Thursday I went into meltdown with the heavy rain forecast and thought I might be eating leftover hog for the week as no-one would turn up).

Many thanks to Sally, Letitia and Karen for the lovely salads. Thanks to Kay for the gazebo’s. Julian for table and chair carrying duties! And big thanks to all the swimmers for their excellant behaviour and courtesy towards each other during games/bouncy castle. My little litter pickers (girls in pink) done a great job – amazing what can be achieved with the promise of an extra ice lolly/ice cream.

This was my last organized event (possibly) as Karen Bradfield will be taking over my role as Club Secretary. I wish her luck and hope you can support her in her new role too.

Please, please keep checking the notice board and website for future events – with a club as large as ours it’s the best way to find out information. You can also e-mail any of the committee (listed on the website under “contacts”) should you wish something personal/urgent to be dealt with. The committee are always on the lookout for new members to keep the club running and you do not have to give up too much of your time. The more people that get involved the less time you will have to give – job’s can be shared.

Again, thanks for your company on Sunday

Kim Fletcher

HOME CHAMPIONSHIPS AWARDS NIGHT

Despite the foul weather it was lovely to see so many of you at the Award’s night. Congratulations to all swimmer’s on their award’s and certificates and for also supporting their fellow swimmers when collecting their awards. Many thanks to all the helpers who gave out the awards and had the mammoth task of sorting out all the cups/medals. Anne did a great job in getting all the cups and medals ready despite only being back from Australia for a few weeks!

Don’t forget the AGM will be coming up end of March – please check website/board for details.

SAVE THE DATE: Sunday 29th June 2014 – Seal’s Summer Soiree! To be held at Ringwood Rugby Club with a hog roast, salad buffet, bouncy castles (weather permitting) and a bar available. A great opportunity to get together and meet other club members. More details nearer the date.
