Update on Fees and Open Meets

Training Fees

We wanted to share some good news with you concerning training fees. They will remain the same (£45 per month) for 2025. You may be aware that we had to increase the fees at the start of 2024 to cover increased pool hire costs and to keep the club in a good financial position. As we anticipated, Freedom Leisure has increased pool hire fees again this year (by 7% from April). However, because of the action we took last year, the club committee has agreed to absorb these extra costs for the rest of the year.

We hope you agree that the club offers your children the opportunity to improve their swimming skills in a supportive and fun environment at a competitive cost.

Novice Gala

Ringwood Seals competed in the Novice Gala at Christchurch on 8th March. The team achieved a creditable 2nd place despite being unable to field teams in 3 of the boys’ relay events. More 10-12 year old boys required! The full results were: 1st Christchurch Seagulls, 251pts; 2nd Seals, 186pts; 3rd Bassett JSF, 169pts; 4th Locks Heath, 165pts; 5th Wildern Waves, 153pts; 6th Romsey & Totton, 125pts. Well done everyone!

Open Meets

There are a number of Level 3 Open Meets this year, taking place in Southampton, Salisbury and Dorchester. Level 3 (and Level 4) Open Meets are for anyone and do not have minimum qualifying times. If your child is interested in entering these, please contact Robbie or talk to one of the other coaches. To compete in Open Meets, it is necessary for us to upgrade your Swim England membership at an additional cost of £24.20. There are also entry fees for each event.

Volunteering

Finally, if you are interested in supporting the club, in whatever capacity, please let one of the coaches or committee members know. We offer financial help to anyone aspiring to work poolside to cover the costs of the necessary training courses. We are also keen for new members to join the Committee and support us in these roles and the work of running and publicising our Club.
